About The Position

The UW Medicine Center – Northwest Inpatient Pharmacy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist Manager. WORK SCHEDULE • Full-Time / 40 hours per week • Day Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS • Assist the Assistant Director with the implementation and ongoing evaluation of the clinical services provided by UWMC Pharmacy, and functions as a working leader in providing direct supervision for the inpatient and ambulatory clinical pharmacists • Perform specific leadership functions for Pharmacy Services related to clinical practice, education, and standards of pharmaceutical care, such as recommending appropriate pharmaceutical therapy, influencing standards of therapy, and developing new clinical pharmacy services DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine's Pharmacy Department provides high-quality and comprehensive pharmacy services to our patients and providers. Our team of specially trained pharmacists and technicians work closely with doctors and nurses to ensure our patients receive the best medication therapy for their condition. Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Washington.
  • Three to five years of experience as a clinical pharmacist preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • State of Washington Pharmacist License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of the clinical pharmacists and provide direct supervision of assigned staff.
  • Develop and maintain practice standards for inpatient and ambulatory clinical pharmacist services.
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing and evaluating pharmacy services.
  • Develop and maintain indices of clinical competence for clinical pharmacists.
  • Coordinate the Pharmacy input in care pathways and treatment protocols.
  • Develop and maintain practice standards for inpatient and ambulatory clinical pharmacist services.
  • Conduct and assist in the recruitment of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy staff as applicable to the clinical programs.
  • Coordinate pharmacist involvement in drug cost savings and quality improvement initiatives.
