Clinical Pharmacists play a critical role in the comprehensive treatment of patients at Cleveland Clinic. In this role, you will utilize your education and experience to ensure access to accurate and appropriate pharmaceutical services. As you make a difference in the lives of patients, you will also have opportunities to enhance your skills, knowledge base and hands-on experience in an encouraging healthcare environment. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 6:30AM - 9:30PM. Cleveland Clinic empowers caregivers to minimize the impacts of healthcare while optimizing patient outcomes and supporting the community. The Department of Pharmacy has a "Greening the Pharmacy" initiative with the goal of leading by example and acting as stewards of our natural resources for the wellbeing of all.

Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible within 90 days of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for individuals administering immunizations
  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in an inpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based medication services.
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
  • Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.
