About The Position
The part-time Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon will provide clinical, educational, and hospital-based services within the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at MUSC James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine. The position supports both predoctoral and resident education, faculty practice operations, and hospital-based surgical coverage at the University Hospital. Position Summary: The part-time Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon will provide clinical, educational, and hospital-based services within the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at MUSC. Requirements
- DMD/DDS from a CODA accredited dental school or foreign equivalent
- Completion of a CODA accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency or foreign equivalent
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Eligible for dental and hospital privileges at MUSC.
- South Carolina Restricted Instructor License
- Ability to maintain a valid drivers license.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and instruction to dental students and residents in clinical and operative settings.
- Participate in attending practice activities within the Section's faculty practice.
- Share in the on-call schedule for coverage of oral and maxillofacial surgery services at MUSC University Hospital.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with institutional policies and professional standards.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the Section through mentorship, collaboration, and engagement in scholarly or educational initiatives.
