About The Position

Provide administrative and clinical support to the physician(s) and team to ensure effective patient care and efficient workflow in both front and back-office operations

Requirements

  • One (1) year of related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Drivers License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
  • Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
  • Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  • Knowledge of the health care field and medical specialty.
  • This position may require irregular work hours based upon operational need.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective multi-tasking, coordination, and workflow between assigned clinical and clerical responsibilities.
  • Assist in administrative duties as required, including but not limited to: Scheduling appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Pre-certification of procedures.
  • Insurance verification.
  • Data entry and charge posting.
  • Supporting secretaries.
  • Answering phones, recording messages, delivering messages to physicians, and medical assistant (when needed).
  • Communicate physician instructions and restrictions clearly to patients.
  • Accurately enter test and procedures as ordered by provider and review charts.
  • Review and maintain charts to ensure completeness/EMR guidelines with reviewing clinician.
  • Register and utilize online portals to obtain authorizations.
  • Make follow-up calls to patients after surgery or invasive procedures to document recovery and progress.
  • Coordinate with outside facilities to schedule tests or surgeries, ensuring all orders, pre-certifications, and referrals are prepared.
  • Encourage a team-oriented work environment.
  • Understand what the physician requires for a productive and efficient clinic.
  • Maintain physician google calendars, etc.
  • Escort patients from the waiting area to triage, including patients with limited mobility.
  • Constantly monitor schedules and patient flow to ensure clinic efficiency and organization.
  • Triage patients as necessary (if applicable).
  • Take and review vital signs, including collecting lab specimens as needed.
  • Assist with placement, removal, and instruction of devices such as splints, immobilizers, braces, and bandages. Sutures and stitches removal.
  • Cean and sterilize equipment using approved techniques (if applicable).
  • Clean and stock exam rooms and change exam table sheets after each patient.
