The Clinical Nurse on G17 Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. This role impacts the quality of patient care, patient outcomes, and resource utilization in a designated area through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is a new graduate nurse pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with less than twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. The Inpatient G17 Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular Therapy Unit is a 48-bed unit, designated for immunotherapy, administering research protocols involving immunotherapy and CARTOX therapy, including Phase 1 clinical trials. Staff on this unit receive additional training to develop skills for providing care to patients receiving progressive therapies. The center offers one of the largest clinical trial programs globally, providing a collaborative environment for nurses to lead in research therapy administration and monitoring. All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience are required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
