Clinical Nurse - Med Oncology
About The Position
Join Holy Cross Health’s innovative Together Teams care model—where bedside RNs, CNAs, and virtual RNs work collaboratively as a 3-person team to enhance patient safety, support, and teamwork. As a Clinical Nurse on our 30-bed Med/Surg Oncology Unit, you’ll be part of a compassionate and dedicated team providing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, managing cancer-related complications, recovering from surgery, or receiving hospice care. This unit also serves patients with general medical-surgical needs. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while guiding patients and families through complex and emotionally sensitive healthcare experiences.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
- Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Certified MS-RN in nursing recommended.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology, med/surg, and hospice patients
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if certified), and monitor for side effects
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and families
- Participate in discharge planning, pain management, and palliative care coordination
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with care team

- Pay Range: $38.92 – $55.68. Pay is based on experience, skills and education.
