About The Position

This role is for a Clinical Nurse in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) at Barnes Jewish Hospital, specifically in the Parkview Tower. The position involves a midshift schedule of 4-10 hour shifts, with rotating start times between 10 AM and 12 PM. The nurse will be required to take call for 24 hours within a 6-week period and work 2 holidays per year. The PACU has 44 beds and handles approximately 60-70 cases per day, including minimally invasive surgery, urology, colorectal, gynecology, bariatric, gender reaffirming, and interventional radiology cases. An 8-12 week full-time orientation is provided. Critical care or procedural experience is preferred, and the position is bonus eligible. Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
