About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Is responsible for daily clinical operations of the Critical Care Unit, Telemetry. Coordinates all work and call scheduling efforts of the CVIR nurses. Is accountable for all orientation and training of the associates regarding best practice process and procedures. Develops and implements best practices from across CHRISTUS Health within CV Service Line that will assist the organization in meeting or exceeding productivity, caregiver engagement, financial, quality and patient loyalty target outcomes. Establishes infrastructure required to communicate with multiple physicians and staff to meet the needs of the Cardiovascular Service Line. Works directly with the Clinical Director of Critical Care Services to expand and enhance all service lines as appropriate. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St Vincent. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. He/she shall support CHRISTUS St Vincent’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
  • R.N. with current New Mexico State license
  • BLS, ACLS and other certification as applicable to area
  • Strong clinical and leadership skills
  • Facilitating interdisciplinary team collaboration
  • Strong nursing knowledge and clinical skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve; ability to appropriately confront issues
  • Ability to motivate others as individuals and as a team
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and manage the activities of others
  • Ability to effectively run meetings and to negotiate deadlines
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience in dealing with physicians on an administrative level and ability to work collaboratively with medical staff members and leadership
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical role in progressive care services
  • Two years progressive management experience

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • National certification in area of expertise is preferred
