Provides ongoing education, coaching, and mentoring to assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
  • Two years’ registered nurse experience
  • State of Work Location: Oklahoma
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State Or Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)

Responsibilities

  • Monitors report as outlined by department leader to ensure daily work flow/volumes are managed, opportunities are identified, and interventional results are realized and acted upon. May post metrics and progress data at the local level.
  • Works in collaboration with the department leader in oversight of day to day operations which includes mentoring, orientation/ training and problem solving.
  • Identifies and gathers pertinent performance and quality concerns and addresses them as appropriate.
  • Participates in the performance review process by soliciting peer feedback, collating on behalf of department leader and providing input.
  • Assists with oversight and supervision of staff.
  • Assists department leaders with on the job training of new staff ensuring compliance/completion of assigned/required tasks, as well as departmental policies/procedures.
  • Assists in staff planning/attendance, management/recording and time off process.
  • Participates in the development of training and procedure manuals.
  • Leads or participates in regular staff and department meetings.
  • As an SSM Health nurse, I will demonstrate the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model.
  • Uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide his/her response to the current and evolving health and nursing needs of our patients and our patient populations.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
