Clinical Nurse II/Inpatient Behavioral Health/24h/ Rotating Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (Deaconess 4) is a 25 bed, locked unit serving the acute needs of a wide range of patients experiencing psychosis, suicidality, depression, etc. There is a comprehensive range of assessment, treatment and discharge planning processes for individuals with acute episodes of psychiatric illness who: a) pose a serious risk of harm to self or others, and/or b) are unable to care for themselves, and c) cannot be treated in a less restrictive environment. The unit is also able to serve those patients with comorbid medical illness because of the diverse skills of the staff and the availability of the resources of a major medical center. Electroconvulsive therapy is given within the medical center and can be part of the care of the behavioral health patient.
