About The Position

At NorthBay Health, t he Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The RN, utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  • BSN required by January 1, 2020, unless grandfathered as outlined in March 2014 letter.
  • Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.
  • ACLS required
  • PALS within 3 months of hire
  • Procedural Sedation Certification within 3 months
  • Minimum of 2 years required (5-years preferred) in an acute care setting within the last 5 years or 1 year at ASC PACU.
  • Experience in PACU, critical care, or ED
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Demonstrate performance by adhering to established policies and procedures and exhibiting the defined characteristics associated with attendance and punctuality.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.
