About The Position

The Operating Room Nurse utilizes the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for individuals undergoing operative procedures. This role may involve acting as a scrub or circulating nurse in various surgical procedures. The Clinical Nurse II Float is expected to serve as a role model for nursing students and new nurses within the unit and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator when requested. This position requires floating between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months recent nursing experience working in an acute-care perioperative environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques, body mechanics and age related acuity levels
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (for all external candidates)
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties
  • Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support certification

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
  • CNOR certification

Responsibilities
