About The Position

Key Responsibilities Milieu Management & Patient Care Oversee daily operations of the clinical milieu to ensure consistency with therapeutic goals and program standards. Ensure a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment that supports patient stabilization and recovery. Monitor patient behavior and unit dynamics; intervene appropriately during crises or escalations. Support implementation of individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clinical staff. Promote patient engagement in groups, activities, and daily routines. Staff Supervision & Leadership Supervise, train, and support milieu staff (e.g., Mental Health Technicians, Behavioral Health Technicians). Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Ensure adequate staffing coverage and assist with scheduling as needed. Model professional behavior, clinical boundaries, and therapeutic communication. Clinical Collaboration Collaborate with therapists, nurses, psychiatrists, and case managers to ensure continuity of care. Participate in treatment team meetings, shift reports, and care coordination discussions. Communicate patient progress, concerns, and incidents to the clinical leadership team. Safety, Compliance & Documentation Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing regulations, and accreditation standards. Monitor adherence to safety protocols, including de-escalation, restraint/seclusion (if applicable), and incident reporting. Review and complete required documentation, including shift notes and incident reports. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to milieu operations. Program Development & Quality Improvement Assist in developing and refining milieu programming, routines, and therapeutic activities. Identify opportunities to improve patient experience, staff performance, and unit functioning. Support implementation of evidence-based and trauma-informed practices within the milieu.
