About The Position

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring for a Clinical Medical Physicist at our UPMC/John P. Murtha Regional Cancer Center in Johnstown, PA, which offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced physicist to join a leading medical physics division. Position Summary: Location: UPMC/John P. Murtha Regional Cancer Center, Johnstown, PA. This position will work between Johnstown. PA and our Indiana, PA office Responsibilities: The physicist will primarily focus on quality assurance testing, dosimetry calibration of radiation therapy equipment, implementation of advanced radiation therapy techniques such as SBRT, VMAT, IMRT, IGRT with CBCT/OBI, 4D CT, and organ motion management. Equipment: The center is well-equipped with Varian 23EX and TrueBeam machines, Eclipse RTP with Aria R&V system, Philips and GE CT units, PET/CT simulators, Gamma Knife units, RefleXion X1, and more. Collaboration: The physicist will closely collaborate with another physicist to support two sites with SBRT capabilities. Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Physics or Medical Physics.
  • ABR/ABMP Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or Therapeutic Radiology.
  • At least three years of clinical experience preferred, with demonstrated skills in SBRT, VMAT, IMRT, IGRT with CBCT/OBI, 4D CT, and organ motion management.
  • Board eligibility is acceptable.
