About The Position

Our School-based Services (SBS) team at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is growing and we are seeking 2 additional Clinical Managers, for Cherry Creek School District and Aurora Public Schools, to manage and oversee our School-based Therapists, Intake Coordinators and Case Managers who provide mental health services directly within the schools. The ideal candidate has worked closely with school and district partners, and has a history of providing excellent clinical supervision to unlicensed staff. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to form and strengthen community partnerships, a commitment to promptly, directly and compassionately manage personnel and performance concerns, and a passion for providing competent and culturally sensitive supervision. The SBS Clinical Manager should also be organized, responsive, enthusiastic, flexible, and passionate about serving marginalized and underserved communities. The School-based Services team at AMHR provides direct therapeutic support to K-12 students and their families. Our team services schools in Aurora Public Schools, Cherry Creek Schools, Bennett & Byers School Districts, and a number of local charters. A Clinical Manager of School-Based Services (SBS) is responsible for managing and overseeing School-based Therapists, Intake Coordinators and Case Managers who provide mental health services directly within the schools. The SBS manager provides clinical supervision to their staff, partners closely with the school administration and mental health teams, and collaborates with the larger school district. They are responsible for ensuring that policies, procedures and workflows are in compliance to agency, school, state and federal regulations, and that SBS staff are well-supported in their day-to-day work. The Clinical Manager also is responsible for hiring and onboarding new staff, as well as coaching staff and intervening when personnel and performance issues arise.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in a license-eligible field.
  • Licensure: Current Colorado licensure required: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Psychologist (PhD or PsyD). Licensure from another state is acceptable if the candidate is in the process of obtaining Colorado licensure and will receive it within six months of hire.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with the population served by the clinical area of responsibility, including administrative experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of theoretical issues related to clinical treatment.
  • Treatment philosophy consistent with the organization's goals.
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
  • Trained and experienced in screening, assessment, and treatment of mental health and substance abuse concerns.
  • Required Vaccination and TB Test. At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employees, maintaining team focus and direction.
  • Hire, provide performance feedback and coaching, and fire employees in accordance with organization guidance.
  • Monitor work schedules and receive and approve requests for time off based on work volumes and staffing schedules.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders related to team accountability.
  • Cascade information from sr. leadership to lower levels in alignment with organization strategy and goals.
  • Design and implement effective group and intergroup work and communication expectations.
  • Define and monitor group-level performance indicators.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems within and among work groups.
  • Arrange appropriate training of staff to improve clinical skills, including providing clinical supervision to therapists, and other team members as appropriate.
  • Work cooperatively with all staff to provide a comprehensive range of services and ensure the smooth transition of clients from one service to another, including handling referrals and assignment of cases to therapists.
  • Handle complaints from clients and community agencies efficiently and satisfactorily.
  • Develop new services to meet unmet or underserved needs in the community.
  • Ensure that clinical and fiscal paperwork and online clinical records are correctly and promptly completed.
  • Interact with community agencies to improve services to clients and enhance the organization's image as a competent provider of mental health services and a committed and caring member of the community.
  • Advocate for the organization's services in the community and at the state level, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that revenues to pay for services are documented and billable by the business office and that the funding source is known to the billing office.
  • Understand and adhere to budget for program.
  • Staff member will complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.
