In this role, the School Evaluator conducts initial screenings and diagnostic evaluations, establishes provisional diagnoses, develops treatment recommendations, and coordinates referrals within school-based and organizational programs. The position may also include safety planning, brief therapeutic interventions, crisis response support, and participation in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure continuity and quality of care. Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Active state licensure required for the location and scope of practice, including LP, PLP, LPC, PLPC, LCSW, LMSW, PLMFT, or LMFT
  • Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record and active auto insurance
  • Successful completion of required background checks, including criminal, abuse/neglect, driving record, and fingerprint screenings
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations
  • Ability to apply sound clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and ethical decision-making
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time (2–4 hours)
  • Occasional walking required for field-based or school-based activities
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for writing, typing, filing, and handling paperwork
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive screenings, assessments, and evaluations to determine service eligibility and clinical needs
  • Develop provisional diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and coordinated follow-up plans for individuals and families
  • Collaborate with school-based teams and internal programs to ensure timely referrals and continuity of care
  • Provide safety planning, brief therapeutic interventions, and crisis response support as needed
  • Participate in emergency and crisis intervention services when required
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Monitor and document activities for data collection, program evaluation, and reporting purposes
  • Stay informed on available programs, admission criteria, and referral processes
  • Engage in peer review, staff meetings, training activities, and professional development opportunities
  • Support quality assurance, compliance, revenue cycle, and grant-related initiatives
  • Deliver educational presentations and materials to promote mental health awareness in schools and the community
  • Report critical incidents and clinical responses to supervising leadership
  • Perform additional duties and special assignments as directed by department leadership
