About The Position

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.Reporting directly to the Practice Manager and Director of Nursing, this position oversees and assigns workflows in the APG practice. The Charge Nurse is also responsible for performing the duties of an office Registered Nurse as well as acting as a clinical resource for the medical practice.Job Description:Supervise and train APG clinical licensed or unlicensed practice staff on vaccine management. Oversee documentation of training for clinical staff. Ensures OSHA compliance and any other policies and procedures. Answers incoming calls from providers and patients. Triages calls from patients, Doctor to Doctor line and other physician offices. Facilitates urgent and routine appointments as needed and manages prescription refill requests. Responsible for post-surgery follow up calls and appointment scheduling. Answers patient questions and exhibits strong telephone interviewing skills Performs duties related to assisting the provider in the care of patients, including scheduling of tests; ordering of supplies, equipment, films and scans; monitoring and following up test results in collaboration with the provider and assisting with in-office procedures. Performs vitals signs, EKG's and medication administration including injections as directed by the provider. Provides oversight, delegation and acts as a resource to unlicensed staff including Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants and Nursing Students. Documents patient file according to APG/BIDHC policy and maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Serves as a clinical resource for support staff and practice as needed. Assists support staff with issues or patient concerns that require immediate attention or conflict resolution. Provides on-going education and training to others in the practice. Continues to update clinical knowledge and skills though consultation, the review of literature and formal and informal education including CEU's. Registered Nurses will ensure that PHI (Patient Health Information) will only be used for the purposes of patient TPO (treatment, payment and operations). APG patient personal health information is only shared with individuals who are actively managing the patient's care. NO other parties are entitled to receive, discuss a patient's personal health information without the patient's permission. The Registered Nurse will ensure patient safety practices to prevent/eliminate risk of patient harm. Adverse patient events and near misses will be promptly reported to the APG Risk Management Dept. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and maintains significant accountability for ensuring patient satisfaction and in assisting others in resolving issues and problems within the clinic. Ensures safe operation of medical equipment and maintains infection control practices. Perform other duties as needed and provide coverage while others are out to assist with patient flow.
