About The Position

Our practice, Vermont Oral Surgery Associates, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Lead to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care. The Clinical Lead is responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of patient care to ensure the optimal patient experience within a designated office or group of offices. In collaboration with the Team Lead, Regional Manager and Clinical Coordinator, they will help maintain clinical efficiency, uphold quality standards, and support seamless clinical operations at the site level. They will also provide training to new hires to the clinical team, identify and resolve clinical challenges, and lead by example the standard of excellence in surgeon support and patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program is strongly preferred
  • Radiography certification
  • At least 3 years of Oral Surgery assisting experience required. DAANCE certification is preferred
  • Sound knowledge of how to use surgical equipment, instruments, and materials
  • A good understanding of surgical techniques, chairside responsibilities, and health and safety protocols
  • An excellent understanding of dental records, charts, and documentation
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances
  • Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude

Responsibilities

  • Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment for diagnostic purposes
  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols
  • Assist the surgeon with all chairside procedures including operatory setup, anesthesia administration, and cleanup
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitoring vital signs during procedures
  • Provide patients with information on oral health care, treatment plans, and postoperative outcomes.
  • Provide excellent patient care at all times
  • In partnership with the clinical team, monitor and oversee stock of surgical supplies and medication, including place orders to replenish as needed to ensure surgeons have what they need for success
  • Ensure instruments and equipment are effectively maintained
  • Provide surgeon with weekly scan out report for transparency
  • Partner with Clinical Coordinator to assist in quarterly inventory
  • Work in partnership with the Regional Manager and Admin Team Lead to provide new and ongoing training to team members
  • Participate in feedback intervals during new clinical hire onboarding periods, 30, 60, 90-day feedback on progress and areas of needed development
  • Assist in ensuring the day is properly scheduled for surgeon support
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned
