Clinical Laboratory Scientist (FDC)
About The Position
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) works under general supervision to perform both CLIA waived and non-waived laboratory procedures involving a high degree of independent judgment. Experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Associates or Bachelor Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology) required. This position is in a busy multispecialty laboratory performing tests in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and coagulation. The CLS will also help with specimen processing and phlebotomy as needed. Clinic hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm. No nights, major holidays or weekends. Requirements
- Associates Degree and Graduation from Accredited Clinical Laboratory Training Program OR Bachelors in Laboratory Science
- 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
Responsibilities
- Process and handle specimens appropriately
- Performs maintenance, calibration, quality control and troubleshooting as indicated by procedures
- Performs manual differentials
- Performs proficiency testing as needed
- Help with supply management for reagents, quality control and consumables
- Help in phlebotomy as needed
