About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) works under general supervision to perform both CLIA waived and non-waived laboratory procedures involving a high degree of independent judgment. Experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Associates or Bachelor Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology) or equivalent required. This position is in a busy multispecialty laboratory performing tests in hematology, chemistry, and urinalysis. The CLS will also help with specimen processing and phlebotomy as needed. Clinic hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm with CLS coverage starting at 6am to perform maintenance and quality control. No nights, weekends or major holidays. Requirements

  • Associates Degree and Graduation from Accredited Clinical Laboratory Training Program OR Bachelors in Laboratory Science
  • 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

  • Process and handle specimens appropriately
  • Performs maintenance, calibration, quality control and troubleshooting as indicated by procedures
  • Performs manual differentials
  • Performs proficiency testing as needed
  • Help with supply management for reagents, quality control and consumables
  • Help in phlebotomy as needed
  • Other duties as indicated by position
