About The Position

Vancouver Clinic is seeking a dynamic and visionary Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead our laboratory operations with a focus on servant leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. Reporting to the Laboratory and Pathology Administrative Director, this role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely patient results, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a NACLS-accredited MT or MLS program required.
  • Certification as MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified technologist/scientist.
  • At least 1 year in a lab leadership role (supervisor, or manager).
  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing direct reports.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to assess performance and manage budgets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a department culture aligned with Vancouver Clinic’s mission and values through inspirational leadership.
  • Oversee all clinical laboratory operations across core and stat labs within the Vancouver Clinic system.
  • Drive strategic initiatives including new test development, service expansion, and resource optimization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders regarding laboratory services.
  • Continuously improve lab processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain up-to-date procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate in budget planning and monitor financial performance to meet operational targets.
  • Hire, coach, and develop high-performing teams, including supervisory staff.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all organizational directives.
  • Lead customer service excellence initiatives that reflect the clinic’s commitment to quality care.
  • Apply Lean and Value Improvement Practice tools to identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Analyze operational data to assess progress and inform strategic decisions.
  • Support staff equitably and compassionately, contributing to performance evaluations and quality assurance planning.
