About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System has an opening for a Clinical Lab Supervisor responsible for management and oversight of our day phlebotomy staff at our La Crosse clinic and hospital. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of lab experience. Previous supervisory/leadership experience, while not required, would be an asset. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take on a lab leadership role. The Clinical Lab Supervisor, in conjunction with the lab manager, is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the laboratory including, but not limited to, specimen collection, specimen processing, testing, and Point of Care (POC) in the inpatient and outpatient laboratories. You will be directly responsible for overseeing approximately 40 phlebotomy & processing staff in the hospital and clinic on the day shift. As a supervisor, you will ensure that all regulatory standards are met, including quality control and other performance guidelines to ensure efficient delivery of accurate and timely laboratory testing and results. You will assure certification and continuing education is maintained, and all competencies are up to date. You will also support and assist the lab manager with all initiatives pertaining to excellent customer service and employee engagement while collaborating with management to ensure that resources are prioritized and in place (i.e., staff, equipment, supplies, technology, and processes, etc.) and properly utilized to achieve AOR objectives through the most effective and efficient operations and in conjunction with AOR leadership, make recommendations for the improvement of AOR key processes, leading to elimination of variability in cost and quality.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, or higher, in science or a related field. A copy of the applicant's/employee's diploma and/or transcript as confirmation of the education requirement must be provided at time of hire
  • 2-3 years of previous/current clinical laboratory experience is required
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques including blood sampling, phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, and analysis

  • Previous/current supervisory experience is beneficial but not required
