Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical or healthcare office setting preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); Epic experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Administrative Assistant certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Specimen Management: Receive, sort, and label patient specimens for lab processing; check-in and accurately document samples. Input daily charges for specimens into Epic EMR. Retrieve lab results from the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and enter them into Epic for clinician review and patient records.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain and organize patient and business documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all privacy regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist the general supervisor and lab techs to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while staying in scope.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, COLA and CLIA guidelines in all administrative and laboratory processes.
  • Office Procedures: Perform general administrative duties and operate medical office equipment with proficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor compliance with internal quality programs, laboratory requirements, and patient result tracking.
