Final year grad students are eligible for a stipend! Wayside’s Residential Services provides mental health treatment to adolescents, ages 12-18, of all gender identities, who live in in the campus residences in Framingham. All clients are involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Most of our clients have experienced chronic traumatic events in a home environment and/or in the community. These experiences have resulted in mental health and behavioral challenges that make it difficult for them to experience success and safety while living at home. Many of our clients stay for treatment for anywhere between 2 months to a couple years. We firmly believe that a strength-based, anti-racist, and relational approach is key in helping our youth feel empowered and begin their journey to healing. Clinical interns can expect to learn how to provide the following: · Individual and family therapy · Group therapy · Crisis management and assessment · In-depth clinical and diagnostic assessments, and treatment plans · Work collaboratively with state agencies · Work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting Additional duties will include: · Attend clinical rounds and staff meetings · Attend clinical trainings provided by Wayside · Attend weekly individual and group supervision Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is a non-profit, nationally accredited human service agency headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts dedicated to building strength, hope and resiliency in youth, families and our local communities.
