Clinical Intern Position Summary Partner with the Clinical Counselors to provide high quality and compassionate care to clients. Principal Responsibilities Under the supervision of the assigned Outpatient Counselor(s), perform a variety of duties to provide clinical and administrative support to the clinical department: Assist Outpatient Counselor(s) with a variety of duties including, but not limited to facilitating or co-facilitating individual or group counseling sessions, client assessments, treatment planning, and documentation. Assist with providing case management services, including coordinating care with external service providers. Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment planning, and incidents are completed timely and accurately. Consult with other professionals when indicated. Provide crisis interventions and de-escalation techniques. Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures, including compliance with all behavioral, ethical, and client boundary expectations. Maintain client records according to the organization’s policies and procedures. Maintain organization, OHMHAS, and CARF required training. Maintain license or registration appropriate to profession and appropriate to job requirement, including appropriate amount of continuing education at all times of employment. Maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Working Conditions Knowledge of: Area resources that may aid clients in on-gong recovery, safety rules and procedures, the organization’s policies and procedures, and de-escalation techniques for individuals who may be frustrated or exalted. Working knowledge of different pathways to recovery and social systems. Abilities: Communicate information clearly and effectively. Recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities. Standing, bending, stooping, sitting, walking, reaching above and below shoulder, repetitive use of hands to operate office equipment. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Working Conditions: Standard clinical office setting. May require weekend, evening, and holiday hours. May be exposed to clients who are potentially angry or violent. General exposure to standard office equipment (computers, monitors, copiers, etc.). Qualifications and Education Requirements Experience in working with Microsoft Office products, including email. Experience with using and navigating Electronic Health Records and other industry related types of applications. CPR/First Aid Certification Highschool Diploma or Equivalent Participating in an Accredited Behavioral Health Bachelor’s Degree Program Applicable license as appropriate: CDCA, SWA, MFTT, CT Emerge is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
