Provides behavioral health services including diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment services to children, adolescents, and/or adults in individual, family, couple, and group-clinical interventions under close supervision. About Internships at Community Healthlink 1. Clinical Interns are in their second field placement and are more often placed in programs which provide individual treatment (in addition to other services). 2. These interns are usually assigned a small caseload of clients in which they are providing treatment with clients under close supervision of their clinical supervisor. This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, providing therapy, discharge and aftercare planning, and completing clinical documentation.

Requirements

  • Has completed required practicum hours (or first year of field training) of a Masters or Doctoral level program in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or related program.
  • Satisfactory CORI background check.
  • Driving is not a requirement.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and best practices to determine appropriate level of care.
  • Can develop and implement treatment plans which are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical support or treatment as defined by the level of care and service needs of the population served. Specific treatment expectations are defined by licensing and accreditation standards for each level of care and internship expectations as agreed upon between the student, school, and program. This may include diagnostic evaluations and screenings, crisis/emergency assessment and intervention, treatment planning and assessment, and individual/group/couple/and family therapy for adults, children, and/or adolescents.
  • Engages in assessment planning, intervention and aftercare as defined by the level of care and clinical needs of the population served.
  • Engages in clinical supervision and case consultations.
  • Conducts standard assessment and screening tools.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary and integrated diagnostic treatment and planning conferences.
  • Complete CCBHC Diagnostic Evaluations with individuals and families within the required timeframes : Same Day – 24 hours, Urgent – 48 hours , Routine – 14 days .
  • Complete CCBHC Diagnostic Evaluations within contractual and agency requirements
  • Coordinate and develop treatment plans consistent with Department of Developmental Services ISP or IEP regulations as
  • Provide therapy and/or crisis assessment and planning in the community as required by the DDS contract.
  • Provides services to individuals in nursing facilities.
  • Coordinates services with staff in nursing facilities.
  • Participates as a member of the STEP team consistent with the Coordinated Specialty Care model.
  • Provides individual, family, and group therapy consistent with the CSC model and the McFarlane Multifamily Group model.
  • Participates in trainings and collaborative activities as a member of the STEP team.
