Overview Grow Your Career Here SOUND Behavioral Health is welcoming a CCBHC clinical intake specialist to our growing team in Auburn, WA, to support clients who call South King County home. SOUND team members are focused on demonstrating compassion, patience, and understanding when treating clients. The clinical intake specialist (CIS) will be responsible for providing clinical intakes/assessments for new clients at Sound. CIS will provide an average of 15 assessments per week for a variety of programs throughout the clinic. CIS must be able to provide clinical intake assessments for both children and adults. A Mental Health Professional designation (MHP) is required for this position! We are accepting applications until January 12th.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field (MSW, MS, MA)
  • Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy, and/or case management approach to providing services.
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while simultaneously managing crises.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to appreciate and work well with a complex and diverse population.
  • Must be able to obtain a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Requires designation as Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a psychotherapist or case manager with adults and/or children preferred.
  • Washington State Substance Use Disorder (SUDP) or Substance Use Disorder Trainee (SUDPT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
  • Prepares necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes and incorporate them into clinical records.
  • Assists clients to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
  • Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
  • Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
  • Understand recovery concepts in behavioral health.
  • Apply recovery concepts as appropriate.
  • Synthesize and demonstrate recovery concepts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
