The incumbent will be appointed at the rank of non-tenure earning Instructor Level, on the clinical educator track in the Cerebrovascular Division, Department of Neurology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. The incumbent will carry out clinical care primarily on inpatient wards, staffing the stroke inpatient service, at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Jackson South and West, and University of Miami Hospital. The incumbent will also provide outpatient clinical care at several Neurology satellite clinics and Jackson South Medical Center clinics when not serving as the inpatient attending. The incumbent will carry out research projects as the Stroke Neet /Research Scholar, and will be provided mentorship to develop a clinical research project and prepare findings for presentation at a national meeting and for publication. Incumbent will be expected to participate in conferences and teach medical students, residents, and first year fellows. Fellows have the opportunity to gain translational research skills and participate in mentored research. Incumbent is expected to learn and properly perform billing, participate in quality improvement projects. Attendance at didactic teaching sessions is expected as well as educational presentations to other hospital and academic services as appropriate.
