About The Position

The Department of Neurology at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a full-time non-tenure track Instructor. Experienced in Neurology clinical research with extensive expertise in managing clinical trials, research personnel, and compliance with regulatory standards. Operating with significant autonomy to oversee multiple research projects, ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and federal regulations. Provides supervision to students and residents as it pertains to clinical trials.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., MD, or DO.
  • Ten (10) years of clinical trial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of clinical research personnel, ensuring the efficient execution of clinical trials across multiple hospital and outpatient settings.
  • Coordinate study activities, including patient recruitment, eligibility screening, informed consent, enrollment, and protocol adherence.
  • Supervise all aspects of trial conduct, including adverse event (AE/SAE) monitoring, regulatory compliance, and communication with principal investigators (PIs).
  • Oversee research laboratory operations, specimen collection, processing, and investigational product (IP) receipt, storage, and management.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, HHS, ICH-GCP, and OSHA regulations while maintaining CLIA waivers and laboratory accreditation.
  • Act as a primary resource for regulatory reporting requirements, quality control, and protocol compliance across multiple clinical trial sites.
  • Manage logistical coordination of investigational drug/device shipments and storage, working closely with research coordinators to maintain proper handling and documentation.
  • Represent UT Health Science Center in professional settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize research outcomes and advance clinical trial methodologies.
  • Provides supervision to students and residents as it pertains to clinical trials.
