The Virtual Clinical Informatics - Epic Support Team supports all Providence clinicians and caregivers in their utilization of Epic, this support is provided remotely 24/7. Given the nature of 24/7 support it is crucial that candidates for this role be available to work a variety of days and start times, including at least one weekend day per week. The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) serves as a professional role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings. The CIS acts as a liaison between clinical care and information technology, supporting all care givers throughout the care continuum in the implementation, learning, use, adoption and optimization of clinical technologies. Providence supports 100% virtual work for residents located in the following areas: Alaska Washington Oregon California

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Clinical discipline, Information Technology/Informatics, Business, Education, Management, Communications, or related field -OR- a combination of equivalent education and work experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in a position that has the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting
  • Experience with the Epic EHR platform
  • Experience with benefits and challenges of adult learning

Nice To Haves

  • Upon hire: Informatics certifications or credentialing
  • Deep understanding of the Epic EHR platform
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Ability to interpret clinical data, generate reports, and identify trends
  • Healthcare Terminology: Understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and clinical documentation
  • Interdisciplinary Communication: Ability to work with clinicians, IT teams, administrators, and vendors
  • Critical Thinking: Evaluating system performance and identifying areas for improvement
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues with clinical systems
  • Adaptability: Comfort with fast-paced, evolving healthcare environments
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in data and system configurations
  • Empathy & User-Centered Design: Understanding the needs of clinicians and patients when designing solutions
