About The Position

The Clinical Informatics Analyst demonstrates a clinical background with special interest and expertise in use of the electronic health record (EHR) and other technology that enhances clinical practice. This role acts as a liaison between assigned departments, facilities, providers and Information Technology (IT) staff to facilitate optimal use of applications. The analyst is an experienced EHR user with previous experience providing instruction to others for integrating workflows and processes into daily practice to support safe, efficient, and effective patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting departments with the utilization of Sanford's electronic medical record (EMR) and associated technology, researching, analyzing, and making recommendations for application workflow improvements, and creating and analyzing reports using multiple reporting mechanisms. The position requires a high level of customer service for all support and training requirements, promoting teamwork, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software. The analyst must be comfortable managing change, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrate strong time management and prioritization abilities. Proficient verbal and written communication, a positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills are essential, fostering a work environment of respect, professionalism, accountability, and teamwork. Key areas of accountability include individual and classroom training, onsite and remote end-user support, development of supporting clinical workflows, investigation and resolution of application and workflow issues, and participation in committees that promote standardization and optimization of clinical informatics changes to Sanford's EMR and other associated technology. The role may require periodic day and overnight travel, non-business hour scheduled support or meetings, and participation in an on-call rotation for end-user support.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required
  • Minimum of two years experience in healthcare setting required
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software required
  • Possess analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Licensed/registered in a clinical field required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in nursing/healthcare management, education, development, and/or healthcare information management preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred
