About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Clinical Informatics Analysis is responsible for the planning, development, training implementation, evaluation and orientation of all facility Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other applications related to the patient experience. This job description is intended to identify some of the primary duties and responsibilities. Mayers Memorial Hospital District reserves the right to modify, supplement, delete or augment the duties and responsibilities specified in this position description, at MAYERS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL DISTRICT’S sole and absolute discretion.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Two years experience in clinical Hospital or Ambulatory setting
  • Prior experience implementing information systems with EHR preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (word, excel, power point)
  • Strong clinical background and knowledge base required.
  • Knowledge of medical records and clinical care processes
  • Professional behavior is demonstrated, both when on duty and as a representative of MMHD outside of normal work hours.
  • Ability to work with others, at all levels within the organization, and collaborate effectively.
  • Above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
  • A positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and facility staff is demonstrated.

  • Produces deliverable products on time, within budget with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrates the ability to compile and organize data using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to make appropriate recommendations or conclusions, given the data obtained.
  • Maintains an organized set of records, upon request, for the functions that are performed within the scope of this job.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to directors, managers, and coworkers.
  • Performs all assigned tasks accurately, to include proper spelling and grammar, reference materials, and minimal mathematical calculation.

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Able to lift 20 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field preferred
  • Prior experience implementing information systems with EHR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate and/or lead planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation and orientation of EHR systems.
  • Facilitate communication from clinical end-users across the patient care departments.
  • Collaboratively drive vendors, users, and the IT staff to achieve maximum efficiency of the EHR.
  • Optimize clinical designs to meet the needs of the EHR end users.
  • Assist Quality team with initiatives and analyzation of clinical statistics.
  • Project management of EHR upgrades and/or new installations of modules.
  • Assist with creating, contributing to, and maintaining system documentation.
  • Proactively analyzing and recommending upgrades and or new systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution for the EHR.
  • Responding to appropriate help desk requests and resolving them timely.
  • Capacity and projected planning, prioritizing, and implementation of EHR modules.
  • Other duties as assigned.
