As a CE Technician, you will maintain, service and repair medical equipment by taking preventative measures, cleaning or adjusting pieces as needed. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leave a positive, lasting impression - from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM-3:00PM, with on-call availability. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment. Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field OR Associate's Degree in Biomechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology OR equivalent specialized or military training.
  • Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.
  • Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET)
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology
