About The Position

The Clinical Educator plays a key role in supporting clinical excellence through the development, delivery, and evaluation of education and training programs. This position ensures that educational activities align with Prevea's mission and strategic goals, supports clinical staff in maintaining competencies and serves as a resource for best practices and standards of care. This position supports the implementation of clinical process improvement activities across the clinic.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited and approved nursing program Required
  • 3-5 years of clinical and/or hospital nursing experience Required
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practice standards, scope of practice, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Strong understanding of clinical safety protocols and ability to respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.
  • Skilled in developing and delivering clinical education, with the ability to coach, mentor, and support staff in both individual and group settings.
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license with the state of WI Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/BLS Certification- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

  • Education & Staff Development - -Align educational activities with Prevea’s mission and strategic goals. -Develop and deliver effective training to ensure clinical competency during onboarding and throughout staff employment. -Create annual continuing education plans and certification support. -Evaluate education quality to enhance professional growth. -Lead internal training initiatives such as the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program—supporting applicant selection, designing onboarding/bootcamp curriculum, and providing individualized training support.
  • Clinical Practice Support & Consultation -Serve as a clinical resource for standards of practice and scope of care. -Support quality and population health initiatives through education. -Participate in new procedure implementation by assessing educational needs and recommending appropriate learnings. -Develop and maintain comprehensive resources and guidelines for medical emergency best practices to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
  • Interdepartmental & Operational Collaboration -Partner with departments to coordinate annual learning assignments. -Support flu clinic planning and liaison with pharmaceutical reps.
  • Clinical Oversight & Incident Response -Provide guidance during clinical incidents (e.g., codes, med errors, 911 calls). -Assist with medication protocols, approvals, and equipment needs.
  • Safety, Quality & Compliance -Ensure education incorporates safety, effectiveness, and cost-efficiency. -Support immunization training, WIR/VFC workflows, and site audits. -Serve on the Executive Safety Committee.
