Facilitate the educational development and professional growth of assigned nursing personnel. Responsibilities include development and implementation of orientation, in-service and continuing education for all nursing unit staff, including agency, which focuses upon the scope of service, emphasizing the age, psychosocial and physical needs of the patient population. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Provide classroom and clinical instruction for orientation for all unit nursing staff, nurse residencies and agency staff Coordinate planning and presentation of formal/informal education for all nursing unit staff (including agency staff) Coordinate staff participation in all required education Coordinate skills fairs for annual competencies and simulation exercises to enhance knowledge of nursing staff Responsible for education files and documentation of staff competencies Maintain accurate initial and annual competencies checkoffs for all nursing unit-based staff, including agency staff Identify opportunities for quality improvement of patient care, through audits and observations Assess unit educational needs and implement remediation with staff Participate in development, implementation and evaluation of unit goals Ensure staff are competent for job duties based on patient population Provide in-services on evidence-based nursing practices, techniques, equipment and supplies Provide input to the Patient Care Manager for staff evaluations related to clinical competence Serve as a professional role model and consultant for assigned nursing unit Other duties as assigned Unit Description: Our Ambulatory clinics are spread throughout the surrounding counties; Cumberland, Robeson, Hoke, Moore, Bladen, Columbus, Harnett, Sampson, and we continue to grow. Ambulatory services serve as a front door to Cape Fear Valley Health, providing and supporting preventive care and managing chronic conditions throughout the southeastern part of the state. The clinic’s care team is delivered in a provider-led, team-based model, which may include Physicians, Advanced Practice RNs/PAs, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Pharmacist, Certified/Registered Medical Assistants (C/RMA), Certified Nurse Assistants, Office Manager, and Ancillary and support staff. The Clinical Admin Team consists of Corporate Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, Clinical Educators, and LPN Coordinator, who supports the clinic needs with access to education, resources, and protocols. Our electronic medical record is EPIC. The clinics utilize a 1:1 provider to clinical staff ratio. We offer a Monday through Friday schedule (7:30am-5pm) with minimal weekends and no holidays.
