Join our team as a Clinical Educator & Emergency Preparedness Coordinator! We’re looking for someone who loves teaching, organizing training, and helping staff grow while keeping our hospital ready for anything. Responsibilities

  • Primary Administrator and point of contact for learning management system
  • Maintaining course bundles in learning management system, reviewing annually and as needed.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop evidence-based curricula and training materials
  • Evaluate curriculum and instructional materials and work with providership organizations to continually meet requirements for CEU-CEH distribution.
  • Manage logistics for in-person and virtual educational events, including workshops, seminars and webinars.
  • Assigning annual course bundles at the beginning of the fiscal year (~ July 15th)
  • Assigning HIPAA bundle and annual course bundles to new hires throughout the fiscal year
  • Tracking licenses and certifications for all HCMH employees that includes their clinical license/certification, Mandatory Reporter, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, etc.
  • Opportunity to integrate mandatory reporter into online learning management system
  • Schedule and/or teach BLS, ACLS, PALS classes for all HCMH staff
  • Schedule and/or teach education classes when needed r/t to clinical skills
  • Run (or schedule) mock codes monthly throughout HCMH
  • Chair the Clinical Education Committee
  • Chair the policy committee
  • Coordinate & teach at the annual Clinical Skills Fair
  • Be part of the Compliance, Safety & maybe Quality committees to help identify areas of opportunity for education
  • Work closely with compliance, quality & clinical department leaders to identify areas of concern and opportunities for education – then teach (or schedule) that education.
  • Maintain our inventory of training equipment at HCMH: this includes manikins, AEDs and supplies used for training purposes (replace equipment when needed).
  • Maintain inventory of student manuals for ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC (replace when update version are released).
  • Ensure HCMH AHA instructors have access to most up-to-date training materials (instructor manuals, training videos, exams, etc.)
  • Work with the Health Education Center in Fort Dodge to submit class rosters, etc.
  • Collaborate and network with other health systems and community organizations to facilitate delivery of continuing education
  • Work with document managers to identify updates/references
  • Coding invoices for classes related to continuing education (BLS, ACLS, PALS, et
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal and CMS CAH conditions of participation standards related to Emergency preparedness.
  • Coordinator will represent the hospital and participate in regional coalition.
  • Coordinate preparedness training, prepare, implementation, and monitor compliance with emergency plans and procedures for natural (e.g. fires, earthquakes, floods) wartime or technological incidents, disasters and other emerge related issues.
  • Plan and carry out drills and exercises for each area
  • Participate in safety committee and provide updates to requirements
  • Maintain emergency preparedness response for HCMH
  • Provide yearly education to departments related to Emergency preparedness
