About The Position

EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time Clinical Director/ Psychologist to join the Queens Mental Health Diversion Program. What drives the core purpose of this job: The Clinical Director/Psychologist serves as the primary clinical lead for Queens mental health diversion and forensic evaluation services. The position conducts comprehensive psychological and forensic evaluations to inform court decision making, release planning, and eligibility for Alternatives to Incarceration. The Clinical Director/Psychologist also develops treatment plans, coordinates service linkages, and provides clinical guidance to staff and partners to support diversion outcomes and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Licensed Psychologist in New York State required.
  • Experience conducting psychological and forensic evaluations.
  • Ability to conduct time-sensitive forensic evaluations within court-driven deadlines.
  • Ability to translate clinical findings into clear, defensible, court-informed recommendations.
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting psychological testing instruments when clinically indicated.
  • Knowledge of justice-involved populations and behavioral health needs within correctional and diversion settings.
  • Ability to synthesize complex clinical and collateral information into structured reports and treatment plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including court-facing documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting violence risk assessments and cognitive evaluations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and forensic evaluations for individuals referred for consideration for diversion programs.
  • Complete evaluations within required timeframes, generally 3 weeks for standard assessments and up to 6 weeks for complex cases.
  • Conduct clinical interviews and develop psychosocial histories, diagnostic formulations, and risk assessments, determine the appropriate scope of evaluation including the need for psychological testing, administer and interpret testing when indicated, conduct complex evaluations including violence risk and cognitive assessments.
  • Review and integrate collateral information, including medical records, correctional health information, criminal history, and prior treatment records.
  • Prepare clear, defensible, and timely reports with clinical recommendations, diversion suitability, treatment needs, and level of care planning.
  • Ensure all documentation is clinically appropriate, evidence-based, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Translate evaluation findings into actionable treatment plans and provide clinical direction to staff responsible for implementation.
  • Review evaluations conducted by consultants, post-doctoral and limited permit staff to ensure accurate diagnostic interpretation, effective treatment planning, appropriate service alignment, and the consistency, quality, and integrity of evaluations and reports across the program.
  • Supervise and provide clinical oversight to clinical assessors, interns, externs, fellows, and limited permit staff as assigned.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary review processes to support clinical decision making and quality control.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready client records in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the agency at stakeholder meetings, court-related discussions, and community events as requested.
  • Maintain productivity expectations consistent with contract requirements and program volume.
