Emp Status Regular Full time Work Shift Compensation Range The base pay scale for this position is $109,000.00 - $166,000.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. What you will be doing Responsibilities Clinical Research Oversee clinical research operations for the Division of Rheumatology’s clinical trials and clinical research projects, and support the oversight of regulatory compliance and large databases Take on role as investigator for rheumatology clinical trials Provide support for multiple clinical research studies as an investigator and implementation of clinical trials and protocols involving human subjects Complete eligibility assessments and obtain written informed consent as appropriate Partner with Centers of Excellence managers to strengthen integration between clinical and research arms and foster cross-functional collaboration Screening, enrolling, and follow up study visits for patients in clinical trials according to research protocols Perform study related procedures Function as a liaison with sponsoring agencies and external sites Supervising, training and evaluating Research Assistants Planning and coordinating inter-related activities with Research Assistants Obtaining direct data from patients Maintain accurate case report forms Other responsibilities as assigned Administrative Act as a senior administrative leader and research partner to the Chair of the Department of Medicine Provide counsel and lead special projects under the direction of the Chair On behalf of the Chair perform additional duties related to communications, relations, and strategic planning Liaison with other Departments’ Clinical and Translational Research teams Own resource management to monitor Rheumatology Division budget, staffing, and funding Ensuring compliance with federal and university policies Develop strategic research goals Clinical Practice (Max 8 hours/ week) Obtain patient history, perform comprehensive and targeted physical examinations, order and evaluate diagnostics tests, and manage chronic, as well as acute patient problems Triage clinical questions and concerns from patients Counsel and educate patients and their caregivers on disease processes and care management outside of the hospital Facilitate and deliver care to patients collaboratively and autonomously Obtain and review outside records/reports as needed and follow-up/collaborate with the physician to re-develop the treatment plan as necessary Provide education support regarding different treatment protocols Order medication and document all patient/caregiver encounters in the EMR Order, supervise and administer infusions Provide clinical support, as needed, for patients receiving IV medications in the infusion center Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Requires and master’s degree in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner trained in the care of adults Has at least 5 years of experience in caring for rheumatology patients Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses Must have NP Board Certification BCLS Familiarity and proficiency with computer-based programs such as electronic medical records systems, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel Preferred Qualifications - Computer skills, proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Experience in clinical research setting necessary, including a thorough understanding of ICH-GCP and CFR guidelines - Tri-State and FL licensure Non-Discrimination Policy Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment. Requirements

  • Requires and master’s degree in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner trained in the care of adults
  • Has at least 5 years of experience in caring for rheumatology patients
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses
  • Must have NP Board Certification
  • BCLS
  • Familiarity and proficiency with computer-based programs such as electronic medical records systems, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
