About The Position

The Clinical Dietitian I (CD I) provides evidenced-based nutrition care to patients/families using practices skill which satisfy the needs/concerns of assigned patients. The CD 1 can formulate and implement an individualized nutrition care plan using current medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and works/collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team, within Cook Childrens Health Care System (CCHCS). The CD 1 contributes to nutrition care decisions that lead to positive outcomes and is an effective educator, to patient, family/caregivers, and staff. The CD I addresses routine problems in the work environment by providing assistance or referring these to other, more experienced team members. The CD I prioritizes workload, delivers nutrition care to assigned patients, and discusses/assists/advocates for the nutritional care needs of the patient/family. Ability to manage daily workload, identify routine problems in the work area, and solve problems with advance/assistance from other is required. Provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. This position receives oversight by the Clinical Nutrition Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor (required) or Master (preferred) of Science.
  • 0-2 years of experience required.
  • Must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed by the State of Texas within six months of hire date.
  • Heart Saver CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • BLS CPR preferred.
