About The Position

The Clinical Dietitian 1 – Specialty (H) provides nutrition care with greater than 70% of time spent in specialty service as warranted by the facility. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: Assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops and implements nutritional care plans. Documents the nutritional status and needs of hospitalized patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines. Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients. Initiates and follows patients for nutrient intake analysis and makes recommendations for continuance, progression, or initiation of alternate therapies. Writes orders for diet, supplement, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and laboratory data per hospital policy. Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding various topics in medical nutrition therapy and drug-nutrient interaction. Ensures regulatory compliance including federal, state, and accrediting agencies. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Registered Dietitian (RDN/LDN) FL state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
