About The Position

The Clinical Counselor completes psychosocial assessments, provides input to treatment plans, implements therapeutic interventions, and assists with discharge planning for patients and families. Provides psycho-education, support groups, family education, and other therapeutic activities. Identifies and intervenes with high-risk circumstances. Complies with all legal and regulatory reporting, intervention, documentation, and referral requirements. Collaborates with treatment team, collateral contacts, and community agencies as assigned. Advocates for patients and families and provides connections with internal and external resources. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' Degree from an accredited school in Healthcare or Social Services related fields required.
  • Minimum six months experience with specific age group experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of specific age groups
  • Knowledge of laws and procedures for reporting to regulatory agencies
  • Knowledge of clinical, legal, and ethical standards of practice
  • Able to read, write and speak English with professional quality
  • Use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to relate, collaborate, and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Work calmly and respond courteously under pressure
