About The Position

Clinical Coordinator (CC) (Full-time, 40 hours) Exempt BUILD, Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed, self-motivated, and innovative individual to join our team. BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organization based on Chicago’s West Side. Since 1969, BUILD has worked to save lives and mentor young people who live in the city’s most challenged neighborhoods. The Clinical Coordinator will provide support for individuals, youth, and families impacted by or at elevated risk for community violence through trauma-informed crisis response, aftercare, service coordination, and resource navigation. Provides stabilization support, grief and family assistance, practical referrals, and linkage to behavioral health and community-based services to promote safety, healing, and long-term stability. This role will also support in ensuring MHTS program quality and strengthening department partnerships. The Clinical Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring services are trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive. This position will work closely with the Manager of School-Based Mentorship and Manager of Mobile Mental Health to ensure smooth coordination and quality programming.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with inner-city youth in community-based services, or with community-based programming or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Youth Development, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Deep understanding of best practices, trauma-informed care, and urban education systems
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership, staff development, and performance management
  • Ability to build strong relationships with schools, youth, families, community members, and community stakeholders
  • Proficient in using databases, tracking tools, and outcome reporting
  • Flexible schedule with ability to travel between service sites
  • Maintain respectful and appropriate relationships with program participants, all levels of agency staff and the various publics of the agency, demonstrating sensitivity to all ethnic, racial, and economic backgrounds.
  • Highly organized with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology integration into daily program operations and evaluation systems.
  • Must be willing to travel daily.
  • Must be passionate about youth development work.

Responsibilities

  • Support Individuals that are at increased risk of experiencing trauma-related instability, recidivism, or community violence in stabilizing, thriving, and setting and accomplishing goals
  • Support MHTS Programs in coordinating outings and meeting with partners that will better suit clients
  • Visit MHTS Program sites and conducts home visits as needed to ensure that individuals, youth, and families are receiving necessary support.
  • Maintain a consistent caseload of clients in MHTS department service-areas
  • Identifies and supports clear metrics of success and stability for each client and continues to support their wellbeing after accomplishing goals
  • Support MHTS Staff in delivering MHTS trauma-informed, client-centered programming in school-based and community settings.
  • Review client progress through regular data tracking and collaboration with therapists, school partners, and BUILD Staff.
  • Ensure Consistent Program Delivery
  • Conduct quality assurance checks through MHTS program visits, observations, and review of engagement data.
  • Ensure client meetings, check-ins, and MHTS programming are implemented with consistency, purpose, and alignment with the program’s trauma-informed and restorative framework.
  • Participate in care team meetings and cross-functional planning with other staff.
  • Data, Reporting & Compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Utilize data to inform continuous improvement and drive accountability.
  • Regularly participate in training & professional development
  • Strengthen community partnerships throughout and involving MHTS department services areas
  • Assist MHTS Managers with program budget and expenses, Including grant deliverables and budget oversight.
  • Submit all required documentation, as requested including, but not limited to assessments, evaluations, progress reports, etc.
  • Participate in agency wide fundraising events.
  • Encourage participant/community participation in agency wide fundraising events.
  • Exemplify the mission, vision, and values of the agency.
  • Work with team and front-line staff to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
  • Maintain knowledge current in the field
  • Maintain current knowledge of agency’s theories, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Attend departmental and agency-wide staff meetings, as scheduled and agency-wide events as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership to support the evolving needs of the MHTS department and the agency.
