About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists with planning, organizing, and supervising the daily operation for the School of Radiologic Technology. Coordinates all aspects of clinical instruction to the radiology students to include: classroom instruction, clinical competency, clinical education rotations, clinical labs, etc. Sreves as main preceptor to students and assumes a supervisory role of students in the clinical setting. This will include performing radiology patient services: including directing and educating students, maintaining equipment and supplies, and performing routine as well as advanced procedures as needed. Oversees and coordinates quality assurance and quality improvement activities for radiology students. Works with imaging supervisors to assist in establishing quality measures and standards. Assists with student evaluations and addresses problems by providing students with feedback on an ongoing basis. Assists with maintenance of program accreditation standards. Assists with continuous program improvement, student recruitment, retention, program completion and maintaining national certification exam pass rates. Regularly meets with and communicates organizational changes to students. Assists in developing short- and long-term goals and objectives. Assists in reviewing and administering departmental policies, procedures, and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Ensures students observe radiation protection techniques such as using beam restrictive devices, shielding patients, and maintaining a knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff. May assist in the implementation and monitoring of the student's clinical labs, clinical competency, and academic instruction. May work with physicians and all other staff members to ensure quality and efficient patient care and quality teaching program. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.
  • Must meet requirements as outlined by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and at a minimum be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must be certified as BCLS instructor in accordance with the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Three years teaching experience within a medical imaging environment.
