Job Overview Shriners Children's has an opportunity for a full time Clinical Coordinator. This position is responsible for delegating and coordinating nursing care for the Medical Office / ACC, as well as providing leadership for the day to day operations in the area.

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant
  • 1 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • Medical Assistant certificiation
  • BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that as patients arrive to see the physician, they are escorted to an exam room.
  • Assist the patient with appropriate dress for the exam.
  • Orients new patients and their families to the Medical Office flow and explains the process, answering any and all questions.
  • As indicated/needed, meets with patient/family, prior to provider and obtains information and enters that data into the EMR.
  • Marks the Itinerary properly when the patient is leaving the area.
  • Reviews physician order entry for required information and clarifies as indicated.
  • Documents all teaching and interactions in EMR.
  • Provides nursing care in the Medical Office.
  • Assess needs of patients and families when presented with telephone calls giving appropriate information or referring to the patient’s Care Manager, documenting any information given.
  • Promotes the clinical education and experience of student nurses.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, nursing assistants and other health team members, providing leadership as needed, to provide quality patient care.
  • Maintains clinic flow to best advantage of the patient, physicians and clinic staff.
  • Participates in orientation of all team members.
  • Makes self available to clinic aides/assistants to answer questions concerning patients throughout the day.
  • Provides guidance and direction to staff in the Medical Office process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
