About The Position

The Clinical Concierge MA/LVN role at Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care in Mckinney, Texas, is designed to enhance the consumer experience by guiding patients and their guests through the urgent care visit, maximizing throughput, and delivering clinical excellence. This position involves a variety of clinical functions, including assisting providers with care and treatment, performing laboratory testing, and other duties. The Concierge is also responsible for patient registration, payment collection, rooming, and patient discharge. All Concierges are expected to maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis. This vital team member works under the direction of the Site Manager and collaborates closely with providers and other clinical staff, demonstrating discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, decision-making, and a strong customer service attitude. Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care centers are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year, offering convenient and affordable care for minor illnesses and injuries across the Dallas Fort Worth area. The organization is backed by Texas Health, one of the region’s largest health systems, and has received multiple awards and a Commission on Ambulatory and Urgent Care Quality (CAUCQ) Specialty Training Commendation for its focused formalized training in urgent care.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or Successful completion of a Vocational Nurse program
  • 6 months of Previous health care facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program in lieu of experience
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in lieu of the completion of a Medical Assistant education program or LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas, if LVN Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care) within 30 days of hire
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training (Maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care) within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Guide consumers and their "secondary guests" through the entire urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence.
  • Assist the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, and other duties.
  • Perform patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge.
  • Maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis.
  • Demonstrate discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision-making; and a customer service attitude.
  • Collects identification and payor related documentation.
  • Conduct registration using EPIC workflow.
  • Measure and document vitals and communicate the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level.
  • Document chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider.
  • Perform and document laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check-off.
  • Administer and document oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow.
  • Assist provider with procedures to include, but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application.
  • Behave in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guest(s) and in-line with patient experience standards.
  • Welcome the consumer and secondary guest(s) to the center (including eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction) and inquire about the purpose and nature of the visit.
  • Recognize and notify provider immediately of emergent patients, perform BLS, provide oxygen administration, and assist provider with emergency care.
  • Schedule primary care referrals for consumers.
  • Maintain office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels as assigned.
  • Perform quality checks throughout out the facility per established policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
