About The Position

The Clinical Concierge LMRT at Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care guides consumers and their "secondary guests" through the entire urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence. This role involves a variety of clinical functions, including assisting the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, x-ray examinations, and other duties. The Concierge also handles patient registration, payment collection, rooming, and patient discharge, and is expected to maintain competency across all assigned positions on a rotating basis. This position is a vital part of the urgent care team, working under the direction of the Site Manager and in close collaboration with providers and other clinical staff, requiring discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, decision-making, and a strong customer service attitude. Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care aims to provide an easy, convenient, and affordable option for minor illnesses and injuries, with centers open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year, and minimal wait times. Backed by Texas Health, the system planned to open 20 locations in the Dallas Fort Worth area by summer 2021. Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care has received multiple awards, including Best in DFW 2024 Gold for Best Urgent Care/Walk-in Clinic, and maintains the Commission on Ambulatory and Urgent Care Quality (CAUCQ) Specialty Training Commendation.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of approved LMRT training program with proficiency in chest, extremities, skull and spine
  • 6 Months Previous x-ray experience or completion of an internal THR LMRT training program in lieu of experience
  • Successful completion of a CHCP externship at Breeze Urgent Care
  • LMRT issued by the TMB with the following specialties: chest, extremities, skull, and spine upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care) within 30 days of hire
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training (Maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care) within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program
  • 6 Months Previous health care facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • 6 months previous experience as licensed LMRT
  • Strongly preferred experience includes: obtaining patient medical histories, administering medications per protocol, performing vital signs, assisting with basic clinical procedures, documenting patient encounters in the EMR and supporting patient flow in a clinical setting
  • Previous experience with electronic health record
  • Previous experience with straight-arm x-ray
  • Orthopedic experience
  • Medical Assistant Certification upon hire (required prior to administering injections)

Responsibilities

  • Guide consumers and their "secondary guests" through the entire urgent care visit to enhance the consumer experience by maximizing throughput and delivering clinical excellence.
  • Assist the provider with care and treatment, laboratory testing, x-ray examinations, and other duties.
  • Perform patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge.
  • Maintain competency and perform in all assigned positions on a rotating basis.
  • Collect identification and payor related documentation, conduct registration using EPIC workflow.
  • Measure and document vitals and communicate the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level.
  • Document chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider.
  • Perform and document laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check-off.
  • Administer and document oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow.
  • Perform injections with the appropriate competency checkoff (if a Medical Assistant).
  • Assist provider with procedures to include, but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application.
  • Perform diagnostic x-rays and document completion of radiology examinations within the licensed scope of practice as ordered and verified by the provider.
  • Perform x-rays following established protocols and utilizes appropriate exposure factors for care and safety.
  • Ensure images and applicable communication are transferred to radiology group for overread and assures all images have a report on file in the medical record.
  • Behave in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guest(s) and in-line with patient experience standards.
  • Welcome the consumer and secondary guest(s) to the center (including eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction) and inquire about the purpose and nature of the visit and appropriate screening questions.
  • Recognize and notify provider immediately of emergent patients, perform BLS, provide oxygen administration, and assist provider with emergency care.
  • Schedule appointments for primary care referrals for consumers.
  • Maintain office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels as assigned.
  • Perform quality checks throughout out the facility per established policies and procedure.
