Join us as we seek to be the most inclusive place for people with disabilities to live, learn, work & play easterseals.com/southerncal $70,304 annual salary ($36.05 hourly) OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Under direct supervision, provides specialized behavior intervention services, parent education, and program supervision according to the goals described in the Individualized Treatment Plan and monitors the development of children in the home, the community, and/or other natural settings. Associate Program Managers work closely with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Behavior Interventionists to provide intervention, conduct assessments, write progress reports and develop programs for assigned cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education, psychology, nursing or related field.
  • Must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Applied Behavior Analysis or closely related field or in coursework series that meets the educational requirements for the BCBA or BCBA examination.
  • Must possess and maintain a current CPR certification.
  • 1 year of ABA experience with children with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities
  • Familiar with the approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and Experimental Functional Analysis (EFA).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices found to benefit children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
  • Familiar with the field of early intervention.
  • Strong clinical, administrative, and leadership skills.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype, etc.) and related software applications.
  • Knowledgeable in licensed area of practice, interdisciplinary early intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practices.
  • Ability to maintain positive customer interaction and professionalism, communicate effectively through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups; demonstrated ability to interact well with children and their families, and to maintain a positive affect.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures and regulations; ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive situations and documentation.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.

Responsibilities

  • Provides specialized behavior intervention services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in the home, the community and/or other natural settings.
  • Provides parent education and coordinates specialized training and instructional materials for caregivers.
  • Completes necessary documentation including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports and exit summaries.
  • Remains current with program and participant-related documents and reports.
  • Provides participant related communication to caregivers, the program team, physicians and other health care providers, as appropriate.
  • May supervise Behavior Interventionists to ensure all recorded data are correct and accurate.
  • Manages, maintains and creates reports from program records.
  • Maintains data reliability and fidelity checks regularly.
  • Plans and leads monthly progress updates for each family served with program team.
  • Assists with the creation and delivery of specific intervention activities.
  • Provides parent education according to treatment plan or other individualized assessments.
  • Monitors skill acquisition of children diagnosed on the autism spectrum in natural settings, under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-services, treatment planning, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
