About The Position

D’Youville University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Dietetics Program. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching, supervision, and mentorship of students in our ACEND-accredited Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics. This position emphasizes excellence in teaching, clinical supervision, student advising, and service, with opportunities for scholarly engagement aligned with a clinical faculty track.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DCN) or progress towards completion, in Nutrition and Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and active state licensure (or eligibility) in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in clinical, community, foodservice, or other dietetics practice settings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student-centered learning.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching in higher education or supervising dietetics students.
  • Familiarity with ACEND accreditation standards and competency-based education.
  • Experience with online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced instruction.
  • Clinical specialization (e.g., MNT specialty, sports nutrition, community health, pediatrics, geriatrics).
  • Demonstrated engagement in professional scholarship or practice improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, food systems, public health nutrition, research, and other areas of expertise.
  • Develop high-quality, evidence-based course materials and assessments.
  • Maintain currency in the field and incorporate emerging trends in dietetics practice.
  • Collaborate with preceptors and clinical partners to ensure consistent and meaningful competency development.
  • Mentor students in professional preparation, including readiness for supervised practice, graduate study, and entry-level RDN roles.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with ACEND standards, including assessment, documentation, and quality improvement.
  • Participate in curriculum review, program development, and strategic planning.
  • Contribute to program reports, accreditation self-studies, and site-visit preparation.
  • Serve on program, school, and university committees.
  • Participate in student recruitment, admissions events, retention efforts, and community outreach.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support program growth and student success.
