About The Position

We seek applicants for one non-tenure-track position in Economics at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position is for three years with the possibility of renewal. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field by the beginning of Fall 2026. We seek excellent teachers committed to the success and social mobility of our students. Experience of teaching Economics in higher education in a culturally diverse setting is strongly preferred. We are a Hispanic-serving institution located in South Texas near the US-Mexico border. Even though this is primarily an instructional position, 10% of its workload consists of Research. Hence, modest publication shall be encouraged and expected. Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field prior to the start of the Fall 2026 semester
  • must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and research potential.
  • Applicants must have earned at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field of Economics.
