Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The Department of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS). The successful candidate will: Perform all functions of an attending Emergency Medicine Physician in all areas of the Emergency Department (Main, Fast Track, Pediatrics); this includes: Medical management Utilization of appropriate consultations Timely patient dispositions while appropriately supervising resident physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants Create timely and accurate medical records communicating the care rendered and decision making process Collaborative and collegial work that adheres to the highest professional standards

Requirements

• MD Degree.
• New York State Medical Licensure.
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Board Eligible if Residency was completed within the prior 5-years.
• If Board Certified, must maintain PALS certification.
• If Board Eligible, must maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications.

Responsibilities
